IT has been recorded in the press that the government has identified Shadsworth, Blackburn, as one of the UK's poorest communities.
They are calling on banks to install free-to-use cash machines in such areas.
I agree wholeheartedly, but are we now into the banks means testing?
Why should anyone have to pay to withdraw their own money when banks are making millions of pounds from their customers' money?
If one of these free ATMs is placed somewhere in Shadsworth, maybe the whole population of the borough could avail themselves if they can't find one locally.
