I AM a student at Darwen Moorland High School and on the School Council. Because of this, I have been involved with some of the discussion over the proposed academy.

Although I feel sorry for the residents of the Redearth Triangle, I wish they could see how excited all the students at DMHS were about the academy.

Even those who knew that they wouldn't be able to attend were putting forward their ideas.

Now there is a chance that it might not be built.

I, for one, am extremely upset as I was looking forward to attending a sixth form in Darwen.

In reply to all the people who proposed the academy should be built on the current Moorland School site, can I ask, have you thought about where all the students will go while the academy is being built?

We can't go anywhere else.

That is why the council didn't it there, because they know that it is not possible.

I hope people can take this into account before criticising the council.

I also hope that there is a way that the Darwen Academy can be built as I feel it would be great for current and future students at Darwen Moorland High School, as it would help them build better futures for themselves and contribute to the future of Darwen.
