FOR some time now I have been searching in vain or Lancashire oatcakes, but without success.
I used to buy them on Blackburn market, but I've not seen any for a number of years.
Do any of readers know if they are still sold?
Failing this, does anyone still have a recipe for these delicacies?
They were made with oats and about 12 inches long and oval - definitely not the same as oatcakes from Staffordshire which you can still buy.
These Lancashire oatcakes were a great favourite in our house, lightly warmed and buttered with grilled bacon rolled up inside, a lovely treat.
Any information greatly appreciated. My email address is: ianphall@btinternet.com I HALL, Preston Old Road, Blackburn.
