THE correspondent who complained about parking at Blackburn railway station was labouring under a misconception.
The four-hour limit is not on the railway site but on the retail park.
The whole situation regarding parking in the area is a shambles.
It was shortsighted of planners to assign such a small area for train commuters, but why am I surprised at that after the debacle of the pathetic shelters on platform four, where it is not unusual to see passengers standing in the pouring rain?
Why are the notices regarding limited time on the retail park so unnoticeable?
Why don't they have pay and display machines like Morrisons which entitle people using the retail park to get a refund from the businesses they are patronising?
Where are train users supposed to park their cars when the designated car park is full?
It is patently obvious that people are using the area as a free car park whilst spending their time elsewhere in the town but who can blame them when the council boasts that it only costs £5 to park all day on the multi-storey car parks?
