Sharon Shoesmith, head of Haringey Council’s social services department, stands to receive a payout of anything up to a million pounds for unfair dismissal, as a result of the death of baby P.
This poor child suffered horrific injuries on Shoesmith’s watch. She came out of court smiling, saying she was thrilled with the ruling.
She was quite happy to accept the renumeration of £133,000 per year for the job, but not to take the responsibility.
I doubt anyone in the country didn’t agree with the sacking. She deserved it. But just because the paperwork wasn’t done properly, she claimed unfair dismissal.
I find the fact that somebody can be awarded a large sum of money as a result of a young child’s death, disgusting to say the least.
Let’s hope the judges see sense at the appeal and this women gets whats she deserves – nothing.
