Has Blackburn with Darwen Council really thought about the cuts that it is about to impose?
Reduced services for older and vulnerable people – more people will die through neglect.
Dimming streetlights at night – increased vandalism and burglary.
Reduced street cleaning and reduced hours at waste recycling plants – increased incidence of fly tipping and litter.
Not repairing potholes – higher incidence of claims against the council for damage to private vehicles.
Can the council also explain how reducing waste and recycling collections to four days a week is going to save money if staff will be working longer hours?
It would make more sense to remove half the council-lors and reduce the perks of the others.
