REGARDING the article (LT, February 8) about Burnley Market getting a revamp, why are 91 council workers to lose their jobs if Burnley Council can still find money to spend where a great number of people don’t shop – ie, Burnley Market?
In the last three years, people who run their own stalls in the market have had their rents increased which makes it hard for the stall holder to continue trading.
The council should get a grip when it comes to spending.
