Of course we need to keep the PCSOs.
Our full-time officers are restricted to filling in needless paperwork in an effort to make sure that litigation is avoided, which takes their eye off the ball.
Our PCSOs have their ear to the ground, are visible on the beat (unrestricted by paperwork) and are a radio call away from assistance, should the regulars be needed.
Don’t think that getting rid of them will increase police visibility. It just increases the paperwork.
