MAY I through, the letters page of the Lancashire Telegraph, apologise most sincerely to Mrs Dot Waring.
The original article in the newspaper made it sound as if she and Councillor Huggill were setting up a rival organisation to Darwen Civic Society in the form of Affiliation to Civic Voice.
It now appears that Mrs Waring knew nothing about Civic Voice and all this has come through Councillor Huggill.
Mrs Waring’s only interest is to save the built heritage of Blackburn with Darwen, particularly Grade Two listed buildings, and Darwen Civic Society wishes to support her.
Mrs Waring and I had a long conversation and I do not wish to denigrate her or the good work she is doing in any way.
M E BYSH (Mrs), Knowlesly Road, Darwen.
