I JUST want to ask Blackburn with Darwen Council if they could arrange for a little job which would only cost about £5 or so.
But it would also prevent an accident and help bus drivers in having to make emergency stops.
All that’s needed are a tin of white or yellow paint, two brushes and a man to do the job.
When buses are coming from the Darwen Cemetery route to Darwen Circus, when they get to Darwen town centre their route is one way between the NatWest bank and the island across from the GPO.
I cannot count the number of times that people forget to look, and think that lane is just for pedestrians and just cross without looking.
Bolton had markings “Look Left” and “Look Right” at their terminus bus station which makes people look.
Why can’t our council people do the same? It wouldn’t cost that much.
I asked the council about this several months ago but nothing has been done.
Typical for ‘Little Forgotten Town’!
AN OLD DARWENER.
