I have just spent two weeks on ward C22 at the Royal Blackburn Hospital and over the past four years have experienced shorter stays.
The care I have received from these professionals, from the surgeons to nursing staff, has been quite something.
The patience they have is staggering but it is blatantly obvious that this hospital is seriously understaffed.
During my latest stay, I overheard remarks from a group of visitors suggesting that the standard of care had dropped and that nursing staff didn’t seem to care.
I am sorry, but in my experience such comments are totally out of order.
Nothing is too much trouble for them.
In fact, on many occasions they worked beyond their normal shift hours.
It is a known fact that the NHS is having problems but with regard to the actual nursing care, these individuals are doing a marvellous job.
Many thanks to all concerned for my care.
A Turner, Darwen.
