DAY after day we read in papers about people who have been punched, kicked, stamped on, headbutted etc and before we finish reading the article we just know the lowlife responsible will be slapped on the wrist, fined, or have a curfew or community service and the laughable suspended sentence.
How in heaven’s name can this be right when victims are left battered and scarred, physically and mentally, for years to come? Who in their right mind believes these mickey mouse punishments fit the crime?
The scum who roam our streets and attack paramedics, policemen, firemen, people of all ages, are still walking free. It’s unbelievable and so frustrating.
Only in the UK could this go on and without doubt the victims come a poor second and the scum know this.
That is why they carry on knocking innocent people unconscious for no reason.
This will never change in the UK because the gutless law will never change.
Although I am wasting my time writing, this is what I would do if I had my way: Build new prisons, and fast, for violent offenders. Assault somebody and you go to jail. The more serious the assault the longer the sentence. There would be no time off for good behaviour. If you rebel against this then time is added on to the sentence. The offender would do hard labour from day one.
I would like to bet that in no time, violent crime would dramatically drop when the scum realised what was in store for them should they attack people. But sadly this is the UK and the do-gooders and powers that be for some strange reason don’t see fair play, so we will just have to carry on living with this joke of a system.
