Re the story about East Lancs dads’ owing £40million in child support (LT, June 28).
The CSA should recover the money at source – directly from people’s employers in the way that tax and national insurance is deducted.
A simple 15 per cent deducted for the first child, 20 per cent for the second, etc would do away with all the hassle of trying to get people to give it up voluntarily.
Does the figure include the theoretical money owed but not liable because the absent parent isn’t earning enough?
