The questions now should not be about what has gone wrong with English hopes in the World Cup but more on the lines of how to restructure the framework of football from these shores.
Do we need to ask but why on earth are foreign coaches managing an England football team when there is all the necessary expertise right here? It may be harsh but this places England firmly with developing teams from the third world.
However the greater question is the political message England sends to the rest of the world. We compete with pride at the Olympics and elsewhere with Team GB while playing the same anthem so why should football have to be any different?
The solution is to lower the St George and raise the Union Flag and introduce a new team to the world with players and coaches from this land.
Let others fear!
