I WOULD like to thank all the people that have so far contributed towards my study of the 1984-5 miners’ strike within the Lancashire region.
I am still very keen to gather more material, whether through oral testimony or access to personal diaries, leaflets, support material or photographs.
I would be interested to hear from anyone who lived in the former mining areas of the North West with personal experiences of the strike.
This is a community study rather than one on high level politics and is for a PhD paper so all conversations will be in confidence.
If you feel that you can help in documenting this crucial period in the history of our region, I would be grateful to hear from you. Call any time on 01706 810575 or alternatively email pscharfe@uclan.ac.uk.
Paul Charfe, 16 Erringden Street Todmorden.
