Nothing illustrates better the ugliness of 1960s brutalist architecture than Blackburn market hall, especially now that it sits so uncomfortably alongside the attractive 21st century Mall complex. The beating heart of the market – traditional local produce – should remain, but please let’s see a new, brighter structure to replace this eyesore.
SHOPPER, Blackburn.
