I AM the husband who collected his wife from the Hollies nursing home in Clayton-le-Moors on Tuesday, May 24 (LET, May 27).
When my wife was returned to the home it was with a police presence, requested by Social Services, plus an ambulance and a social worker.
This was a cause of anxiety to my wife who became ill as a result and a doctor had to be called on May 25. Happily she is now in recovery.
I would like to express in closing, that none of this reflects on the Hollies nursing home or its owner (Mrs Holden) who have acted at all times with the greatest consideration and kindness towards myself and my wife and whose staff have been brilliant towards us.
The villains of the sage are undoubtedly social services and their "Big Brother" attitude.
