IT is indeed great news that Lancashire County Council is to install wind turbines and solar panels at the proposed Shuttleworth College.
While this is the first school to get green energy, what about the others?
However, how green is it? Are readers aware that Shuttleworth College will be built in the Green Belt?
Lancashire Council Council are adding to Burnley and Padiham's problems by building schools on greenfield sites at Gawthorpe, off Rossendale Road and on the playing fields at Towneley.
Meanwhile, what is going to happen to the school site on Widdrow Lane?
If the County insist on building Hameldon College off Rossendale Road, maybe Shuttleworth College should be built off Widdrow Lane?
This land was once a recreation ground.
It is still much used (unofficially) for games now.
Do LCC have any plans to give it back to Burnley people?
