IN reply to the four letters (LET, Friday May 19) attacking the England First Party's democratic election victories in Blackburn with Darwen.
Firstly, to the failed Green Party candidate for Fernhurst Ward Robin Field. Mr Field finished bottom of the poll and rightly so. He did not live in or close to Fernhurst Ward, and as far as we could tell did very little, if any, canvassing or leafleting.
The EFP were very pleased to have picked up the votes of many former Green Party supporters, who rightly saw our party, and not the Green Party as the party which cares about the environment.
By the way, the EFP have picked green as our official colour for our group on Blackburn with Darwen Council.
I suggest that it is the Greens who are the mad, racist and homophobic' party, not us. As to Mr Field's other claims that we support the Ulster Unionists, and racial/religious supremacy. This is nonsense. I will be travelling to Ireland later this year to support those nationalists who back independence for Ulster and Eire, as I did in 2004.
Secondly, Erskine Morris who fails to tell us what ward he/she lives in, claims that as a party we think that black footballers should not play for England.
May I suggest to Erskine that he/she checks out the last English team to win anything of importance the 1966 World Cup. Oh dear, how horrible, the team was all white!
Thirdly, to failed Tory Party candidate for Meadowhead Ward, Konrad Tapp. Why did Tories defect to the EFP in such large numbers?
For two main reasons: 1) I was the only local candidate out of the three and the only one to live in the ward. 2) The David Cameron Tory Party is now so left wing and liberal they saw no real difference between them and New Labour.
I am sorry to hear that Mr Tapp was shocked' by the democratic process of England First winning. As to our victory being described as frightening' by Mr Tapp's buddies, I am sorry to hear that they are frightened by democracy (the turnout in Meadowhead Ward was a record 46 per cent, for a non-all postal election, showing that the EFP are good for democracy), and should inform them that they are in for many more frightening' evenings up and down the country as English Nationalism gains more and more support over the coming months and years.
And now to Chris Walton who thinks that "working class married men have no understanding of what it is to be party of a minority, to have no one to defend you, accept you for who and what you are."
Well Mr/Ms Walton must live way outside the real world as many working class married as well as single and middle class English men and women, feel like a minority in their own country now, with no one to defend them.
For hundreds of years Englishmen have fought and died to defend this great little country of ours and its freedoms. Let's not have all that go to waste because of out of touch politically correct extremists.
Finally, I would like to thank all those of you who saw through the politically correct brigade's lies and smears and voted England First in such large numbers. We are not left wing or right wing, just English, and just here to serve you, the voters.
COUNCILLOR MARK COTTERILL, Chairman, England First Party, Bunkers Hill Close, Blackburn.
