I WAS initially writing to express my sheer dismay that some residents of the Fernhurst Ward, Blackburn, had been duped into voting for the EFP.
I have read leaflets on local issues and share some of the concerns that residents have raised, but cannot subscribe to Michael Johnson's scandalous attack on the other councillors of the ward as his observations are not just fanciful but downright dishonest, but now all my fears about this victory have been allayed, as Mr Johnson so very eloquently denounced his party's manifesto on the BBC's Politics Show the other Sunday.
I do however, have some reservations because either he misled his electorate to vote for him under his party manifesto in which case the electorate should very loudly call for his resignation or he has used the politics of his party to get elected but does not subscribe to the manifesto, in which case he should be expelled from his party.
So come on Mr Johnson, stand up and be counted.
MRS JUNE BUCK, Lower Darwen.
