IN RESPONSE to the article (May 5) re the English First Party, I would like to clarify a few points in their policies.
It is brilliant to see a party that specfically says "The EFP demand equality."
Equality for all would be a wonderful thing.
However, we then read on to see that "equal rights for same-sex marriages will be repealed." This seems to be at odds to what they say they want.
Furthermore, they want all gay pubs and websites shut, yet want to legalise brothels and social drugs, both of which are known to encourage crime.
Whose version of a morally acceptable society are they working towards?"
This seems to be a party run by working class, married men, who have no understanding of what it is to be part of a minority, to have no one to defend you, to accept your for who and what you are.
For so many years, people have fought for equal rights, for women's rights, disability rights, racial rights, sexuality rights, religious rights. People have suffered, people have died. Let's not have all that go to waste because of groups like the English First Party.
