SOME dog owner residents of Fernhurst Farm and Oakdale area of Blackburn should be ashamed of themselves.
As a resident and regular walker around these areas, I come across lots of mounds of dog muck on the foopaths, fields and verges.
I find some people's habit of letting their animal mess in public places and then leaving it to fester revolting. The poor children, who want somewhere safe to play, haven't got a cat in hell's chance. Why must I and many others be forced to keep our eyes on the ground in order to dodge the dollops of dog dung, instead of being able to enjoy our walks and otherwise pleasant surroundings.
You offenders know who you are. Do you not have a conscience?
How many children do you want to risk getting seriously ill from something that is so easily cleaned up? You could try using nappy sacks, which are inexpensive, and can be located a few aisles down from the dog food at your local supermarket.
For those of course who do take just a few seconds to clean up, well done and thank you for helping to keep the area clean and tidy, and safe. It's just a shame not everyone is as thoughtful as you are.
