I AM utterly dismayed that for the second time I have taken a large amount of cardboard, collected by my household, to the recycling centre at Bank Top, Blackburn, to find no cardboard skip has been available.
I was told by recycling staff to put cardboard in the non-recyclable waste skip.
What a waste of time and effort. No wonder there is no motivation to be green.
I thought we, as parents and individuals, were trying to encourage recycling, in fact I thought Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council was too, as it has issued recycling bins for plastic, glass, paper and garden waste which are collected every week and a grey bin for non-recyclable waste which I only have emptied alternate weeks.
I hope this situation can be resolved. It wouldn't seem too difficult to order another cardboard waste skip before the one in use is completely full.
