I ATTENDED "A Festival of Music" concert, featuring The Salvation Army Citadel Band and The Blackburn Cathedral Girls Chamber Choir, in aid of "New Life for Lokna" appeal, which was excellent, but very poorly attended.
Although the weather was poor that evening surely more people would have attended if they had known it was on. We had only found out about it because of a brief note in the Evening Telegraph the night before.
That started me thinking there is no public notice board in Blackburn where various events can be publicised.
Clitheroe has one on the main street which is well used.
If it ever came to pass that Blackburn could afford one, I would suggest it was either in the window of the information office, or just outside in Church Street and that local groups could publicise their events for free.
