AS an HGV driver, I travel the length and breadth of the country and find myself having to deliver in places that are not really suitable for my vehicle.
I found myself in that position on Monday, March 20 in the Cottonfields area of Colne.
A car, while legally parked, was causing me some problems exiting from my delivery point.
A lady in a Ford FIesta kindly stopped and assisted me in my quest to find the owner.
While we were trying to find the owner of the car, a man came down the street and asked if it would help if he moved his car.
I told him it would be a step in the right direction and he promptly moved his car and then with the lady from the Fiesta, watched me out on to the road.
Unfortunately both parties did not wait around once I had managed to get out so I didn't have time to thank them.
I therefore hope that they are readers of your paper, so I can thank them for their help and prove that Lancashire hospitality and generosity still exists.
BILL WHINCUP, Darlington.
