IS Bill Stemp for real in suggesting Darwen Leisure Centre shouldn't be improved?
In your article I fear for my clubs' (March 21) he asks why can't we just carry out essential work and forget the larger pool and revamp! £9million is being invested in improving what is an outdated centre.
The current centre is poorly organised, disability unfriendly, dark and dingy. Of course we want investment and improvement.
Then Mr Stemp says the people of Darwen are happy with what is there already. Who gave him the endorsement to speak on everyone's behalf?
Then we have Coun Karimeh Foster jumping on the bandwagon. She says lots of people are concerned they're losing a leisure centre.
I reckon a survey of Darwen people would show they do want investment and improvement and a more open, airy leisure centre, with loads of great services.
