YOU reported recently that Burnley is to spend £270m on the Weavers Triangle, creating hundreds of jobs and attracting thousands of visitors to the town.
Meanwhile, Blackburn with Darwen Council is to close the Lewis Textile Museum. This will save £23k but will mean even less visitors to the town.
Like it or not, industrial jobs are dying out, but places like Newcastle, Liverpool and Manchester have made up for it by creating new tourism, leisure and cultural attractions.
It seems Burnley understands how to redevelop itself in the 21st century.
Sadly Blackburn is content to die a slow death.
