HOORAH! Dog wardens to patrol the canal banks. Sadly I have yet to see them!
As a dog owner who regularly walks down the canal with my dog (and who does "pick up"), I am disgusted at the number of dog walkers who let their dogs foul the paths and banks yet make no attempt to clean up after them.
The level of dog fouling along the canal in Rishton has definitely increased over the past few years and the path and banks are now littered with dog faeces it is absolutely revolting.
I do not think that more dog bins are the answer, although the ones that are there are well used.
It is about time people were named, shamed and fined.
Maybe then they would show a little more respect to the area and other walkers.
