WE had our bin stolen in September last year. I rang Hyndburn Council refuse department and was offered a replacement within 7-10 days'.
Three weeks later, phoned again. Sorry we are having a problem with suppliers, we have a lot like you.' Two more phone calls, with no progress. The fifth call, there is no longer any record of my former calls nor the formal complaint I was invited to register, via the person answering public queries.
I supply strong black bags which collectors pick up but keeping refuse in the garage is unhealthy, inviting vermin.
There have been several boasts in the press re Hyndburn's successful recycling of waste and we are pleased that the scheme was introduced but I am now annoyed to see houses nearby (on Windsor Road) with two grey bins, while we have spent four plus months with none, and this through no fault of ours.
