I AGREE with the writer of the letter concerning rubbish collection (LET, February 7). Collection of rubbish once a fortnight is ridiculous for a family. When we are paying council tax of over £1,000 a year I expect to have my bins emptied once a week.
It is scandalous the council sends wagons round on alternate weeks to collect bags of cardboard but is threatening to take legal action when someone leaves a bag of rubbish next to their overflowing bins.
Also, during the summer months, when the bins are stinking with the heat, every fortnight they send wagons round to collect garden waste which most people put in a composter in their back gardens.
They should, instead be dealing with the infestation problem caused by them not collecting once a week as they should.
As the writer of the letter pointed out, I know where my vote will be going come the next elections.
