I WRITE in response to the article (LET, February 4) Mum's fury over dog toilet park.' It sickens me to read articles like that, but it sickens me more that Blackburn with Darwen Council does not do anything to resolve it!
Dog mess litters pavements in the Fernhurst Farm estate. Where are the so-called animal lovers and responsible owners of these pets?
This estate has been created to attract families. There is no chance I would let my daughter play on pavements with all the mess. It's disgusting.
Animals are wonderful creatures but I am sick and tired of their irresponsible owners.
Who from the council comes and spot checks' our walkways and issues penalty fines to these irresponsible owners and when exactly does the council come and clean the mess away? I haven't seen an officer yet in four years.
Other things are also left. The estate has numerous street lights that are out. They have been reported but not fixed.
We have asked for litter bins to around the estate but still have none. Grit boxes are filled not with grit in preparation for bad weather but rubbish! We live in a society where it appears no-one could care less, and where the attitude is that someone else will sort it out.
Soon, the council will be informing us of the rise in our council tax but for what? Streets that are full of litter; dog and cat mess; broken street lights... the list is endless. Come on pull your socks up and start acting like you care for the residents of Blackburn.
Name supplied, Fernhurst Farm Estate, Blackburn.
