I MUST object to the proposed moves at Burnley General Hospital. Consideration should be given to not only the patients but the patients' visitors.
The death rate of patients would increase by having to move them to Blackburn or anywhere in between.
And the time spent by their visitors on travelling would be ridiculous. Then there would be congestion on the roads.
Whoever thought this up must have no brains and must therefore be in a position that is very much overpaid.
Not everyone has transport. People from Brierfield would have to use at least three buses and those Barnoldswick at least four and how much time would be spent waiting at each changing point?
The Health Service has got out of hand. There are more managers than any business of the same size.
And there are even more now with the appointment of matrons. Its ridiculous.
We have qualified nurses who cannot get employment while hospitals employ agency nurses who cost more than it would cost to engage a nurse!
And we are spending money supposedly we haven't got on a private firm to answer telephone calls.
The founders of the Health Service must be turning in their graves.
The Labour Party in the 1930s and even after the war was the people's party, the party for the people but the present party has lost its way and the ordinary people are not considered at all.
They listen to the people but then ignore what has been said.
