I'M writing about the Compulsory Purchase Order 2005 of Blackburn with Darwen Council Franklin Street/Hannah Street/Star Street/Sunnybank Street/Redearth Street (Darwen).
I got a letter from the Government Office for the North West to let me know a public local inquiry will be held at the Town Hall, King William Street, Blackburn on Tuesday, May 14, 2006 at 10am.
So this should be a boost to those people who don't want the proposed Darwen Academy to be built where this council and Capita want it.
I hope the people of Darwen will finally have their say in where they want this new school to be built, somewhere safe for the pupils to get to and next to playing fields so they don't need to walk miles or have to get a bus.
I would suggest where Moorland High School is just now fills all criteria but that is my idea. Let the people of Darwen say where they want it.
A D GORDON (Mr), Brighton Terrace, Darwen.
