I TOTALLY agree with Coun Clark (LET, January 16). We all know that Coun Clark is not talking about Burnley shopping centre, where a dedicated small band of workers keep it spotless, picking up after all the slobs that hang around there.

There are two sides to every story of course, the litter laws are there but there is no-one to make sure the laws are obeyed.

If you get a dedicated team like Parkwise (who are doing an excellent job) to enforce the litter laws, Burnley would benefit.

I am not a do-gooder, just an elderly law-abiding citizen of Burnley who goes for a walk every day and sees all this filth, and by the way, had to have the ratcatcher to my house last year, not a pleasant experience I can tell you.
