I read with disgust about MP Harriet Harman going to court for careless driving and only getting a £350 fine and three penalty points, but not a driving ban.
She also faced another charge of driving while using a mobile phone.
But because she pleaded guilty to the first offence, the prosecutors withdrew the phone charge and again, no fine and no driving ban.
Would the ordinary man in the street have been treated so leniently? I think not.
With the expenses scandal and now this, it seems that MPs are above the law.
No wonder this country is in the state that it’s in, with people like this running the country.
It is about time they started to set a good example instead of getting away with everything.
This incident has made a mockery of our justice system.
ANGRY PENSIONER, Blackburn.
