I WAS in one of the affected 150 homes in Mellor which had no electricity for over seven hours on January 14.
United Utilities should look into the situation that entails essential work being carried out on tree cuttings, as there must be a number of areas where power lines are to near to large trees.
They should plan to re-route past those spots or put the electric cables underground, saving many homes being left in the cold.
The only consolation was that we were given two days notice before the electric was switched off.
PENSIONER, Barker Lane, Mellor.
