Blackburn with Darwen Council let us all down in the recent bad weather.
Most people who work in this town – and pay for council services – did not get paid when unable to attend work due to the minor road conditions.
Yet when phoning the town hall, you got the response: ‘There are no funds available’.
If that is the case, we the paying public should each year get an information sheet showing the amount of public money they receive and to whom/where it goes.
The council should remember that the people of this town elect them to deal with our hard-earned finances and give us services.
If you do not attend school due to the pathways not being walkable, you can get in trouble if your child does not attend.
If you don’t do this or that, you will be in trouble. It’s all we seem to hear these days.
Sometimes common sense and making a decision for yourself and your family should be an individual decision, not one forced upon us.
I think we have to re-evaluate our sense of safety and happiness to finance as we all seem to be pressurised into doing what we are told to do, rather than what our common sense tells us.
