RE the article (LT, November 28) about an official organisation which had failed to register its title in time with Companies House, ie PLDC Ltd.
I quote, “a company set up to handle the multi-million pound regeneration of East Lancashire.” This is what Elevate was set up to do, without much success, but the article states that Pennine Lancashire was the brainchild of Tony Wilson and associates.
Whatever said councillors etc may claim, it certainly isn’t ‘pro bono publico’, who are regularly led by the nose into ridiculous, expensive ventures such as the ones financed by PFI (schools and hospitals!).
Elevate and PLD Ltd should be scrapped, and the promised money (?) distributed for worthy, viable projects between councils.
The only gravy wrestling that PLD do is in that from the gravy train. Another unelected outfit.
