LAST Monday I had my first Christmas present. I had waited about eight years to receive it.
I must say it was well worth waiting for, for I still cannot believe it.
No, I didn’t win the lottery, but what I got for Christmas was ‘my impossible dream’.
I was invited along with Gary Keedy, the Lancashire county cricketer, to light up Thwaites’s famous ‘star’.
I would like to thank all at Thwaites’s Star Brewery for the lovely reception, but I must include my daughter Stephanie Glover who initiated all this.
My Christmas present this year will be long lasting.
JEAN FORREST, Openshaw Drive, Blackburn.
