SO, the launch of the Blackburn Eye is imminent! Our council has become adept at discovering more and more obscure ways to invest/waste public funds, this time in the name of Christmas.
Rather than a positive seasonal promotion of benefit to all of the town centre traders by offering, say, a month’s free parking, we are instead being asked to spend £1 for the opportunity to see Blackburn from about 100ft above King William Street.
We may all wonder exactly which “interesting views” our beloved leaders are expecting us to see, as it has already been established (back in the mid-70s), that all you can possibly view from a Torquay hotel bedroom window. . . is Torquay!
