MEMBERS of the House of Lords are to be awarded a £200 a day attendance fee.
This means if they attend all sittings they will each earn £30,000 a year.
I consider this obscene and unjustifiable when a pensioner in this country has about £100 a week to live off.
How dare the Government tell us there is not enough money to give pensioners a realistic, decent, living pension?
We have the lowest pension rate in the EU.
Which ever Government is in power, they never fail to look after themselves economically.
Talk about greed – they should be ashamed of themselves when some of our pensioners are barely existing and no doubt a lot will go cold and hungry this winter.
While our MPs are living in luxury. I just don’t know how you can live with your conscience.
H HAMER, Blackburn.
