I do not believe that Job Centre Plus treats long-term unemployed people with respect.
It sends people to ‘opportunities’ and ‘Gateways’ but this is not real help.
Too, they demand people to go to these programmes yet they do not pay minimum wage.
I have also had the experience that this is often just an excuse to blame a claimant for not looking for work – yet this is forced upon them and, in effect, prevents them from seeking work.
Possibly because there is a lack of real help/jobs, they attempt to blame this on a Job Seeker.
