In answer to Mr Chris Eggleston (LT, November 12), his letter has much to be agreed with.
Yes, we British, or should I say English, are at war. Would we have celebrated our heroes if after one month, as Mr GW Bush said it had been ‘mission accomplished’ with oil flowing to the West.
Just look at the cost of all the wars our politicians have engaged in paid for by the working class.
How many wars have we had since the First World War?
We as a nation are dissipating our national strength while China, Russia, India and almost the whole of Latin America are finding the means to escape US exploitation.
Is it not time to be a fully paid-up member of the European parliament and seek to keep the peace. Peace means prosperity.
