Regarding the recent correspondence about elderly people having access to free bus travel, may I point out that free services are of no use if there are no services.
Queens Park has not had a bus service for more than a year.
We cannot get to town, to the bank, the Post Office, supermarkets, market or entertainment.
Nor can we visit friends and relatives or have them visit us.
The community bus is a very poor replacement of a regular service, as it has to be booked the day before and personal circumstances can change from day to day.
We are entitled to a regular, even if depleted, service.
Where else in the country is there a public park with a nearby bus?
