HAVING just read that we in Darwen are to have both the town council and the bus lane imposed on us I would just like to comment as follows.
Regarding the town council – only 20 per cent of the people voted showing how disinterested we are in having a town council and how we really can’t be bothered voting as we know Blackburn with Darwen Council will have their own way, no matter what the people of Darwen think.
Re: Pennine Reach bus lane – again, Blackburn with Darwen want this and we will have the bus lane whether we like it or not.
Alan Cottam says the MORI poll showed people wanted the bus lane – only 1,500 people were polled and not all of those were for the proposal.
What about the 3,000 Darweners who signed the Rotary Club petition against the bus lane – do their views not count?
If Blackburn with Darwen want their precious bus lane, let it start at the Darwen/Blackburn boundary and leave Darwen out of it.
How many times do we, the public of Darwen, have to tell the council that the bus lane is not wanted here?
