I WAS sorry to read about the recent closure of Leo’s Carpets, but business is business.

Someone is making a profit from this, that’s what it’s all about.

There is nothing fair about it, we don’t live in a meritocracy.

You can’t go about running a business in this day and age thinking that people are going to treat you right.

They are making money their way. It’s a little ironic that some of us, indirectly, through our pension funds, have pulled the plug on businesses.

Where do you think the dividend comes from? The only thing that is going on currently is MPs running round looking for some more clothing for the Emperor.

We don’t need the banks like we have been led to believe. The bankers are fully aware, just like the politicians, of how perilous our financial predicament is, but they don’t give a damn.

After all, they’re not passing the cut in interest down to us and they’re turfing people out of their homes.

They’ve treated everyone like dirt, overdrawn charges, letters, they can’t even speed up the cheque clearances (five working days).

Time we took things in house, keep all the branches open and jobs, no point in paying them to sit at home on the dole.
