SUCH arrogance from Coun Alan Cottam. Some pensioners never get out of the house because of the cost of travel. Now they can, instead of stagnating at home.
Using public transport is something the Government encourages (less pollution), can be a lifeline and a breath of fresh air for many.
On the subject of wasting taxpayers’ money, the council do a very good job already, one-way bus lane, bridge to nowhere on Freckleton Street, street “art” all over the place. Need we go on?
If the council is not getting enough funding from the Government, take it up with them, not the pensioners who use their free entitlement on the buses.
