What has happened to our society? On the one hand we have unscrupulous bankers paying themselves millions in bonuses whilst carrying out financial exercises which have helped to produce the current banking crisis.
On the other hand these same bankers have caused a profit- making business to be placed into administration.
I refer to Leo’s Carpets in Blackburn which was founded and owned by Leo Flood. A person who employed at least 50 people and 20 sub-contractors. A person who has raised thousands of pounds for local charities over the years.
My company dealt with Leo’s Carpets for many years and I can say that Mr Flood is a person of honesty and integrity, more than I can say of the banking fraternity.
The fat cats get fatter whilst the ordinary man in the street is left to flounder.
I despair.
