IN RESPONSE to D Brooks letter, Our Heritage Going West. I think that when Britain conquered most of the world, imposing our ways and beliefs on other human beings, that was the beginning of the end of our heritage. Is it so important that we call biscuits cookies, etc? What does it really matter when most of these countries were taken over by Britain, like Australia, America and others, when the natives of these countries had no say whatsoever to voice their opinions on anything.
Many of the soldiers who were in the military forces in those days needed female companions who became their wives and had children by them. These had no rights and were never accepted especially if they were black.
The black people have no sense of belonging anywhere. What about their heritage?
