WHEN is Blackburn with Darwen Council going to get things right and spend their budgets on what the residents who they serve, need and not what they think that we need.
I refer to the recent art and sculptures that are being erected and placed around the borough.
I feel it is immoral that obscene amounts of money is spent on projects with little thought of the safety of people from Darwen and its visitors.
With reference to the LT (Jan 10) article - Action Plan for Danger Road - it is my opinion that such finances should be spent on keeping the streets and roads of the borough safe.
Although I acknowledge that some progress has been made recently, lives could have been lost around the road and junctions that lead on to Railway Road and Atlas Road.
In August last year I myself fell foul of this junction which at the time was defected, obscured and poorly maintained (police comments).
The consequences were that I suffered appalling and near fatal injuries caused in a road traffic accident.
I understand that over the years many individuals have come to an unjustified similar fate as myself.
